Why Rajasthan Could Be The Team to Beat in IPL 2024?

Rajasthan Royals have been a class apart. They are the table-toppers at the time of writing and have impressed with both bat and ball.

If we were to describe this year’s IPL in just one word - it would be “unpredictable”. But we’re trying to add some nuance to this madness, amidst all the six-hitting mania and chaos thats happening.

While the numbers were being crunched, it was clearly evident that one team stood out in terms of their form and potential. That team has breezed past challenges and has yet to really hit its strides.

No prizes for any correct guesses because the Rajasthan Royals have been a class apart. They are the table-toppers at the time of writing and have impressed with both bat and ball. They look good for an extended run in IPL 2024 and here’s why Rajasthan is setting the tournament on fire so far.

Young Blood Rising to the Occasion

Rajasthan Royals’ have always unearthed talent throughout the years. They have given us the likes of Ravindra Jadeja and Ajinkya Rahane. However, the Royals have a lot of them this time around. They have a strong and young Indian core comprising of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel, all of whom have been the talk of the town at some point over the last year, for all the good reasons. Parag, in particular, has been brilliant this IPL 2024 with a 36% increase in his fantasy stock price on Sixer. With Jaiswal yet to hit his strides, which he may eventually, the Royals look threatening.

Spin It to Win It

Rajasthan Royals’ bowling attack has just about come up with the goods. While their pacers have blown hot and cold, the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravi Ashwin has delivered more often than not. Chahal and Ashwin are up by 30% and 6% in IPL 2024 so far, courtesy of eight and one wicket respectively. Ashwin has also doubled up as a floater with the bat, adding to his case. What would a team give to have these spinners in their team?

The Big Guns

Well, it wouldn't be fair on Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Trent Boult if we ignored them. All three of them are world-class talents and have had a say in IPL 2024. Samson and Buttler are up by over 15% in the last week or so while Boult is killing it with the new ball. They have complemented their youngsters to perfection and that has paved the way for a perfect start after four games.

Are the Royals invincible? No but they are pretty damn good. With all the tools to succeed at their disposal, the Royals are likely to go a long way in IPL 2024.
